With Spring here, its time to break out those bright colors and let your style shine! Whether its pastels, paisley or floral its finally the time of year you can break those wild hues and prints loose.
With the Kentucky Derby being just around the corner, its a necessity you look your best and start the season off with a bang. However, for men, dressing to the nines can be a little difficult and going with a 'standard' suit and tie is in the past.
Thats why we've got a couple suggestions for you!
To keep it on the simpler side, break out one of your bright colored polos. A polo is such a versatile piece that it can be easily styled into a Derby Day fit. We chose the Diva Blue Original Penguin polo because it's vibrant but not something that will make you stick out. The sleeves are cut a bit shorter than usual giving you a nostalgic cut. Styled with a pair of Original Penguin P-55 Chinos and a pair of Original Penguin Charles Loafer you have a simple but great look for an derby party. To top it off and make it a little more fun we added a Brixton Castor Fedora which should a summer essential for any classy gentleman.
The next outfit we wanted to take a different route and bring in some patterns and subtle colors. For someone who doesn't want to be super flashy but still look great, this outfit is for you. We start with a fun patterned button down, here we chose the Nashville Skyline 7Diamonds shirt. On top of that is the 7Diamonds Rizzoli Blazer which is a great alternative to a suit jacket since it has a slimmer cut and is made of a summer blend of cotton and polyester. We paired them with the Original Penguin P-55 Chinos which compliment any fitted outfit below-the-waist. To top off the aura of the past, I added the Castor Fedora. In this outfit the hat really ties the color scheme of navy/khaki and adds an a touch of classic flare.
Either of these outfits are great for any Derby party or spring occasion.
Just remember, for spring, incorporate some fun colors or patterns to brighten up your outfit. We can't wait to see what you start rocking in the shop!
